Michael Kidwell currently serves as the Consul for Political and Economic Affairs in U.S. Consulate General Milan. His previous diplomatic service includes assignments as an economic officer in Kabul, Afghanistan (2005-2006) and as the environment, science and technology officer in Cairo, Egypt (2003-2005). Prior to joining the diplomatic corps, Mr. Kidwell worked as Liaison to the Congressional Appropriations Committee at the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. Mr. Kidwell holds a Master’s degree in international relations from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Simon’s Rock College in Massachusetts. He speaks Italian and Arabic.
